Isobutylvinylether stab. 0.1% KOH
Isobutylvinylether is a colorless liquid with an ether-like odor and it is miscible in water.
General
Coatings
Vinyl ethers typically form alternating copolymers via charge transfer-complex polymerization with electron-deficient monomers, such as vinyl chlorides, maleic anhydride, TFCE, resulting in improved solubility and flexibility.
Copolymers with n-Butyl vinyl ether are used for solvent based anti-corrosion coatings. It is also used as a comonomer for polyvinyl ether-chloride resins that are formulated into anticorrosion paints and road marking inks.
Inks
Isobutylvinylether is used as a comonomer for polyvinyl ether-chloride resins for printing inks.
