Cyclododecanone (CDon)

A cyclic aliphatic ketone which is white solid at room temperature

Cyclododecanone is the key raw material for making lauryl lactam, an intermediate used to produce high-performance plastic polyamide 12 (PA 12) which is also known as nylon 12. This is a broadly used technical polymer in applications where stability against high temperature and various chemicals is needed, as in 3D, packaging and automobile industry.

As a precursor for macrocyclic musk value chain, CDon is also applied in fragrance industry.
Additionally, CDon is a key intermediate in synthesis of various specialties like UV-stabilizers and agrochemicals.
