Toluene (for dealcylation) is produced by cracking naphtha in the BASF Steamcracker. It is a mixture of long-chain aromatic hydrocarbons and it is used as a blending component for premium gasoline and for the production of benzene and Xylol. Important characteristics of Toluene (for dealkylation): liquid, flammable, toxic, from colorless to yellowish color, strong smell.
