Delta-Valerolactone (DVL) is an organic compound lactone used as a chemical intermediate in manufacturing of coatings and dispersing agents. It is typically used as a co-monomer for polycaprolactone polymers effectively reducing the overall polymer melting point.
Pharmaceutical
DVL is used in the synthesis of an acid chloride which is subsequently utilised as a building block in active ingredients.
