Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE

Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE is mainly used as a reactive and strong blowing catalyst in the production of all kind of polyurethane (PU) foams. Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE is classified as low emission (low VOC) PU catalyst.



"Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE contains the chemical functional groups of a tertiary amine, an ether and an alcohol. By its alcohol group Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE firmly integrates - “reacts” - into the PU polymer network during foam production, so that it cannot escape from the foam afterwards. Therefore, Lupragen® N 208 Hydroxyethyl-TMAEE is called a “reactive catalyst”. This prevents its emission as a volatile organic compounds (VOC), which can cause unwanted effects such as odor.  Overall, this property makes Lupragen® N208 particularly suitable for the manufacture of PU products for applications in which stringent low VOC standards must be met. Examples range from flexible foams for mattresses and upholstery to more rigid foams for automotive interiors such as dashboards or armrests."
